Bennett Gastle was founded in 2005 by Elizabeth Bennett-Martin and Chuck Gastle. Chuck and Elizabeth started their careers working in a larger downtown firm environment. They worked to create a litigation boutique committed to delivering effective commercial and civil litigation services on a cost-effective basis, that is personalized and flexibly meets each client’s needs.

We take pride in having developed a litigation system over the years that is exceptionally organized and efficient, yet maintains a personal connection with each of our clients.

We work to develop and maintain a documented litigation strategy that is executed on a timely basis, while ensuring that our clients are well informed and involved in file strategy throughout. We pride ourselves on our experience within our practice areas and our commitment to providing tailored, client-focused legal solutions.

Over the years, we grew from a lawyer-focused practice, to a diverse practice of lawyers and paralegals. Our team offers a comprehensive range of services in various insurance defence practice areas (group health, disability, life, travel, AD&D, occupier’s liability, negligence, tort), breach of contract and creditor-debtor actions.

Each lawyer and paralegal carries their own file load and is dedicated to ensuring the highest level of client service is provided on each file assigned to them.

In 2023, Heather Gastle and Crystal Burns proudly transitioned into co-ownership of the firm. Chuck and Elizabeth remain as advisors to the firm. Heather manages our portfolio of lawyer work while Crystal manages our paralegal portfolio. Heather and Crystal are dedicated to continuing Bennett Gastle’s proud litigation history, while bringing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to our practice.
